Being the editor, practicing material arts, traveling around Wuhan by motorcar… Ryan Pickrell, the American student who is studying in Huangzhong Shifan University, has a life just like the Wuhan citizens. The third episode of <home in Wuhan> will show you his life in Wuhan.
Ryan has studied martial arts since he was a little child. He was interested in Chinese martial arts after he had practicing Korean and Japanese martial arts. He is good at Yongchun, Tai Chi, Changquan, the staff and the spear…. A few months back, he was rewarded first place of the Hubei province university student martial arts competition in the staff form and the Changquan form.
On one occasion, he knew there is an English newspaper in Wuhan named <Changjiang Weekly>. According to his both English and Chinese abilities, he was accepted as the English editor of that newspaper. “My boss and co-workers are good people and the wages can help me to buy a nice wedding ring for my fiancee”, he said.
Ryan and his girlfriend, Yubo, a girl comes from the northern China, was introduced by a friend. They both like the quiet lifestyle and chat a lot on QQ. As they live in different cities, they treasure the time when they are together very much. Ryan likes to take his girlfriend to travel around Wuhan by his motorcar. They like to go to the place where they haven’t been to and enjoy the excitement the unique local culture of Wuhan brings to them. Talking about the problem of losing their ways, Ryan said confidently: “My sense of direction is usually pretty good. I can adapt to where am I pretty quickly and not get lost. In fact, many of my friends here say that I could probably become a taxi driver in the city”.
